After 6 years it was finally the time to update my personal web site. This time I did a switch from my homebrewed CMS to newly released Drupal 8. I've been working with Drupal for almost half of my career but unfortunately for this transition, on the wrong end of the delivery pipeline.
These words are the first new content on my new D8 installation and I'm writing them while sitting at Drupal Camp Helsinki 2015. The hot topic is naturally Drupal 8, which was released yesterday.
The renewal of mkoh.net has been on top of my mind for a while now. I've been undecided between Drupal and Wordpress (the CMS I run my other blog with), but to celebrate the release of the new version of one of the the world's most popular content management system, I decided to go with Drupal. The fact that I work for one of Finland's largest Drupal software development company also weighed a bit in the cup ;)
The ramp-up did not take too long and I was creating content within two hours of running the installer, but I expect the site to look a bit ugly for a while until I find the time to learn some D8 theming.
